Grants-in-Aid to Voluntary Organisations for ST Welfare

Registered voluntary organisations, NGOs, and non-profit institutions with prior experience in ST welfare work are eligible. Organisations must be registered under relevant laws, have functional bank accounts, and demonstrate past implementation experience with tribal communities. Government organisations are typically not eligible.

Projects covering education, healthcare, livelihood and skill development, income generation, cultural preservation, infrastructure in ST areas, and socio-economic empowerment are funded. Projects must directly benefit ST populations and align with national tribal development priorities.

The maximum grant per project is typically up to Rs. 25 lakh, though this may vary based on project scope, duration, and budget justification. Larger projects may be considered for higher amounts depending on scale and impact potential.

Grants are usually disbursed in installments: first installment upon approval, second after satisfactory submission of progress report, and final after project completion and evaluation. All funds are transferred directly to the organisation's registered bank account.

Detailed project proposal with budget, beneficiary list, implementation timeline, expected outcomes, organisation's audited accounts, tax exemption certificate, board resolution, and letters of community support are essential. Registration documents and proof of past work are also mandatory.
