पीएम गरीब कल्याण अन्न योजना
Free 5 kg foodgrains per person per month to 80 crore NFSA beneficiaries. Extended and integrated with NFSA from January 2024.
The PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana is designed to provide food security to India's poorest and most vulnerable populations. Eligibility for this scheme is based on being a registered NFSA (National Food Security Act) beneficiary. The scheme covers approximately 80 crore beneficiaries across all of India who were already part of the NFSA framework. Generally, NFSA beneficiaries include Below Poverty Line (BPL) families and Above Poverty Line (APL) families identified by each state according to specific criteria. Each beneficiary receives 5 kg of free foodgrains per person per month, whether it is rice, wheat, or other specified grains depending on your state's allocation. Since the scheme has been extended and integrated with NFSA from January 2024, most eligible families do not need to apply separately if they are already registered NFSA cardholders. Those not yet registered under NFSA can apply through their local gram panchayat, Fair Price Shop, or state food distribution office. The scheme is applicable across all states and union territories of India. For specific eligibility confirmation based on your individual circumstances, income level, family composition, and state-specific criteria, it is recommended to check with your local Fair Price Shop or visit the official NFSA portal at https://nfsa.gov.in/.
