All families in Punjab with annual income below Rs. 3 lakh are eligible. This includes BPL (Below Poverty Line), APL (Above Poverty Line), and EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) categories. SC, ST, OBC, and General category families meeting the income criteria can apply.

The smart card allows cardholders to purchase subsidized foodgrains including wheat, rice, and other essential commodities from authorized Fair Price Shops at government-fixed prices. You can apply at your nearest Fair Price Shop or through the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs office in your district. Submit required documents including Aadhaar, proof of residence, income certificate, and photographs. The application is processed and the smart card is issued within 15-30 days.
