Punjab Widow Pension Scheme

Any widow woman aged 18 years or above residing in Punjab is eligible to apply for this scheme. There is no upper age limit for eligibility. The applicant must provide proof of widowhood through her husband's death certificate.

The monthly pension amount ranges from Rs. 500 to Rs. 1,200 depending on the income category of the widow and prevailing government rates. The amount is directly credited to the widow's bank account. Pension amounts are periodically revised by the government.

You can apply by submitting the required documents to your nearest Social Security Office or gram panchayat office. Required documents include Aadhaar Card, death certificate of husband, income certificate, residence proof, and bank details. Applications are processed and approved within 30-45 days of submission.

The annual family income should not exceed Rs. 1.25 lakh (approximately) to be eligible. An income certificate from the appropriate authority is mandatory to verify this. The income limit is periodically revised by the state government.

The primary document required is the death certificate of your husband issued by the municipal corporation or gram panchayat. A marriage certificate establishing the relationship is also recommended. These documents must be attested and submitted with your application.
