YUVA - Young Upcoming and Versatile Authors PM Mentorship Scheme

Candidates must submit writing samples (2-3 pieces), a book proposal, and a detailed CV. Selection is based on merit, assessed by a panel of renowned authors and literary experts. The evaluation considers originality, writing quality, and potential for literary contribution.

Mentees receive one-on-one mentorship from established authors, participation in literary workshops and seminars, access to publishing networks, editorial support for manuscript development, and exposure to literary festivals and reading events across India.

Yes, candidates with prior publications are eligible to apply. The scheme welcomes both first-time writers and those with previous literary experience. Published works can be included in the writing samples submitted during application.

The mentorship period typically lasts 6-12 months depending on individual progress. Mentees must commit to regular meetings with their mentor (bi-weekly or monthly), submit drafts as per agreed timeline, and work toward completing or significantly progressing their manuscript during this period.

Selected authors may be expected to acknowledge the scheme in their published works and participate in YUVA alumni network events. However, the published work remains the intellectual property of the author, and there are no financial obligations to the government post-completion.
